Dear Family and Friends,

My departure date is rapidly approaching, I will be returning to South Africa on June 18, and returning back home to the states in December. It has been an amazing time home, most importantly the birth of my first grandchild, Conner.

A lot has been accomplished; fund raisers, Powerpoint presentations at churches and civic organizations. Most recently, we set up an Our Journey information booth for the local "Blessing of the Fleet" festival in Darien, Georgia. I have shared with you before, that I live in a small fishing village, and once a year they bless all the local shrimp boats. During the festival I had my picture taken with Georgia Congressman, Jack Kingston! (See the photos on my website)

I even won the local shrimp eating contest ...I will cherish the title forever and the necklace with the shrimp and white rubber boots I was awarded!

All the clothes for the children of South Africa have been mailed, all 30 boxes of them. It will be an exciting and happy time when I deliver them to all the children in the villages where I will be living. Everyone continues to be so supportive of this mission .... so many doors have opened.

I just returned home from a short trip to Florida to visit a friend from my past. She wanted to hear more about Our Journey; it was a pretty exciting time to spend time with her and share our mission with her and friends! I am committed to walk through all doors that open for us.

I will be sharing a 30 minute Powerpoint presentation about my time in South Africa on Wednesday, May 16 at 7:00 PM at the Shellman Bluff Baptist Church. Please come, I would love to share my story with you!
