Dear Friends,

Can you believe I have been home in Gerogia for almost 5 weeks now.  Thank you for all the prayers and e-mails asking about my daughters complications with her pregnancy.  Kristine has just passed a critical time in her pregnancy, she is still on bed rest but doing great.  Conner is due April 1, but, he could possibly come a lot sooner.  I am attaching a recent picture of her ... she is beautifully pregnant    Praise God!  I am so excited about becoming a grandmother!!!!!

Update on precious Phila, he is still in the hospital.  I have been in contact with people in South Africa and another meeting with his grandmother and social worker has been scheduled for next Tuesday ....  I will keep you posted as I know more.  Continue to keep him in your prayers, it is of the utmost importance that they agree to send him to a place of safety and not home.

Many projects are under way while I am home here in the states, Our Journey Sewing Club is busy sewing clothes for me to take back to the children in June.  Another friend gave Our Journey a  $100.00 gift certificate to purchase shoes at a local shoe outlet - let me tell you that one was fun, I have been chasing down all the clearance shoes and will be returning with many pairs of new shoes for children of all ages.  I am currently volunteering two days a week at a local thrift store that raises money for a residential home for troubled children, they have graciously allowed us to purchase the clothes at a very reduced price.  I am volunteering there with a good friend, Barbara Perkins, I am proud to announce she has just accepted a seat on Our Journey Board of Directors.  Barbara has taken it upon herself to purchase these clothes for Our Journey and also find funders to pay the postage to send them to me in South Africa...she is AWESOME!!!!This is the same lady that found people to pay the postage for the blankets that were sent to me last year.

I am also presenting  PowerPoint Presentations about Our Journey to any organization that has an interest in our mission.  Please contact me if you know of anyone that would like me to speak. Many of you know I will not be returning to the orphanage where I have volunteered in the past, I am excited to be starting a new venture with another organization that deals with outreach projects in very remote areas of Kwa Zulu Natal. I will be doing similar projects, but ,will also have the opportunity to live amongst the people in the villages.  It will be a challenge for me, but, I know it will also be very rewarding.  I get excited just thinking about it.  Please know I will never forget my babies at the orphanage and will visit them from time to time. Again, without all  the support from you wonderful people these projects could never happen.

THANK YOU!!!!

Love,Maureen
