Our Journey Founders

	The Founder, President, and driving force behind Our Journey, Inc., Maureen Ahern, heeded the calling to care for the less fortunate early in her life. When Maureen was just a teenager, she cared for neighborhood children at a nearby orphanage. As a young adult, she was in VISTA, the Domestic Peace Corp, and initiated Program Project Explore for children in Appalachia. This undeniable dedication to the well being of children gave her the motivation to become a foster parent later in her life, caring for up to 10 foster children. Maureen's business background encompasses a broad range of skills that she developed while managing destination resorts. From her many years of experience in the hospitality industry, Maureen understands the complexities of running a business, handling all aspects including budgeting, managing P&L statements, human resources and successfully conducting business negotiations with government entities. Maureen's business acumen, combined with her unlimited capacity to give and care, makes her uniquely qualified to operate and manage Our Journey, Inc.

Co-Founder, Dick Gordon, has joined up with founder and President Maureen Ahern to care for the forgotten children of South Africa. Dick, a father of two daughters, has traveled to the remote corners of the world both professionally and personally. His experience in start up operations, senior management and worldviews has been, and will continue to be, a source of great support for Our Journey, Inc.
